ASSISTING A SOMALI FAMILY IN OUR COMMUNITY
Thanks to help from Catholic Charities, St. Peter has begun helping a Somali refugee family who is currently living in the Enola area.  The family is comprised of a woman, her elderly mother with health issues, 6 children and one grandchild.  The mother is currently working but not earning enough to feed her large family.  We have assisted by taking her to New Hope Ministries twice a month for food, beginning her ESL education, attending school activities in preparation for the new school year and collecting toys and school supplies for this family. We are currently looking for housing closer to Mechanicsburg which is where the majority of the Somali people living in this area live.

For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.  (Romans 12:4-8)
